Description

Hey you! Feel free to download this to your computer, but don't use it anywhere on the internet without my permission, or you'll have me, my watchers, and my online buds to deal with. Don't be an art thief!

Meet Julio, =Vasida's gorgeous black sabino stallion character who is in the process of discovering that not only is he capable of love, but he found it and lost it already. Woe betide anyone who crosses his path while he's trying to figure himself out!

This is a long overdue commission. Not that I put due dates on anything, because that would suck, but thanks Kae for being so patient! I really appreciate that anyone would commission my work, and I try to take my time so I don't force anything and get sloppy. I hope it's worth the wait!

So, you want technical rambles, eh? See that belly? It was black before. Yeah, turning near-true black to white is A NIGHTMARE. And if you know me, you know I manipulate photos rather than paint things when at all possible. Painting it in would've just turned out flat and lifeless. So that part took forever. Sabino-ifying the markings was fun though, once I determined that, while not as easy as I expected, it was entirely possible. Oh yeah, and I started off with a tall background with a single mountain, but then I figured I could do better and LO AND BEHOLD I had this sucker sitting in my stock folder just begging to be cloned into usability. It started off as just playing around, and then I decided I liked this version more than the original. I still have the original if =Vasida wants it, since she knows what it looks like from the WIPs. But this way I can make myself (and her) wallpaper of this baby, so woohoo!

The stock horse wasn't quite the quality I'm used to, but that didn't stop me from jumping on an awesome pose. I worked some magic, and after doing battle with a lot of colour noise I'm glad I went with this choice.

Check out that windy hair! Yeah, that was a lot of fun. Too bad most of the tail got covered up, but you get a good view of the front feathering cause I couldn't bear to (or justify) covering it with snow. Yay windiness!
